Third Sector Assembly

I know we shouldn't be trying to keep up with the Jones', but I do get a bit worried about the apparent progress that West Cheshire are making.

I now read that they already have a Third Sector Assembly in place - something which I believe is one of the most central cogs in a local government that involves and is run by all.

I'm off to find out when we're getting ours...

Don't rush to get it, sounds like another usless talking shop. We want ACTION not a load of gobbledegook...............

The context
Local Government Review will mean that there is one unitary authority for the
current........ An
anticipated re-alignment of PCT boundaries will mean that we have coterminosity
of the major players.
The third sector... is very diverse, has much to contribute to
LAA and LSP objectives and at various levels has already contributed much
to shared goals. LGR presents us with an opportunity to bring the sector
together, seek to represent its views and to offer coordinated and focussed
support so that we can maximise its contribution to the delivery of high quality
services which meet the needs of the community.

absolutely no intention of the Assembly being a talking shop. The people involved have more important things to do with their time¬

One of the important things about the third sector is that they can have a talking shop and mutter gobbledegook if they want to.

The 3rd sector is not directly funding by the tax payer, and therefore they can do what they like.

But if that's what they did then they wouldn't be able to offer services that are aligned with what the council needs, and therefore would never get commssioned to deliver anything.

This means they would get no money, and they'd cease to exist.
